Compressor Flashcards
What type of compressor is used in the system?
Belt Driven, with an electromagnetic clutch to cycle the compressor.
The compressor is belt driven and has an electromagnetic clutch to cycle it on and off.
How is the compressor controlled?
Controlled by Pressure/Temperature Sensors to cycle the clutch.
The compressor is controlled by pressure and temperature sensors that cycle the clutch.
What lubricates the compressor?
Lubricated with PAG oil, which is suspended in the R134a Refrigerant.
The compressor is lubricated with PAG oil, which is suspended in the R134a refrigerant.
What does the compressor receive from the evaporator?
Receives low pressure gas from the evaporator, into the suction side of the compressor.
The compressor receives low pressure gas from the evaporator into its suction side.
What does the compressor do to the gas?
Compresses low pressure gas, into a high pressure gas.
The compressor compresses the low pressure gas into a high pressure gas.
What happens to the refrigerant during compression?
Compressing the refrigerant increases the heat, thus the refrigerant remains a gas(boiling).
When the refrigerant is compressed, it increases in heat, keeping it in a gaseous state.
