Clutch Wont Engage Flashcards
Conditions for the clutch to engage
Connect A/C Machine to Tractor, set A/C to on, and MAX cold.
Connect to the truck and launch Diagnostic Link, and navigate to the Instrumentation/VAC Tab.
Engine Idling above 450 RPM
A/C Low Side at least 20 PSI
A/C High Side below 450
Ambient Temperature(2010 and older tractors) 40-200°F Newer Tractors don’t look at ambient air when cycling clutch
Vehicle Air PSI above 60 PSI
Evaporator Temperature above 44°F
FCU is receiving Blower Motor feedback
Possible causes if clutch is not receiving power
If all conditions are verified, and the clutch is not receiving power it could be a wiring issue, or a component failure.
Example Sentence: The clutch is not engaging even though all conditions are met.
