Evaporator Flashcards
What does the blower motor do in relation to the evaporator coil?
The blower motor blows warm air over the cold evaporator coil.
Example: The blower motor helps cool down the air in the HVAC system.
Where is the evaporator mounted inside the cab?
The evaporator is mounted inside of the cab behind the passenger side dash, in the HVAC Box.
Additional information: The location of the evaporator plays a key role in cooling the air inside the vehicle.
What happens to the warmer air in the cab when it comes in contact with the evaporator?
The warmer air in the cab is absorbed by the cold Low Pressure Liquid in the evaporator.
Example sentence: The cold liquid in the evaporator helps extract heat from the air.
What happens to the Low Pressure Liquid in the evaporator when the temperature increases above its boiling point?
The Low Pressure Liquid evaporates/boils into a low pressure gas.
Additional information: The change in state from liquid to gas is a key step in the cooling process.
Where does the warmer low pressure gas go after evaporating in the evaporator?
The warmer low pressure gas is now routed back to the compressor.
Example: The compressor plays a crucial role in the refrigeration cycle by compressing the low pressure gas.
