All internal- open the cover on the back or open the entire laptop (dependant on laptop) then unscrew the two screws and slide the drive out and replace

move the user docs between drives
install any required apps
but can be time consuming

clone the HDD (move everything from one to the other)
create an image file (moving one drive at a time)
drive to drive image (moving image directly from one drive to another)
