Advantages of LCD displays
Lightweight
Relatively low power
Relatively cheap
Disadvantages of LCD displays
Black levels are hard
Needs a separate backlight e.g. LED, fluorescent
Lights are difficult to replace

TN - twisted nematic
IPS- in plane switching
VA- vertical alignment
Advantages of Twisted nematic
Original LCD tech
Fast response time (good for gaming)
Disadvantages of twisted nematic
Has poor viewing angles meaning the colour shifts and can be seen on the screen from certain angles
Advantages & disadvantages of in plane switching
Ad- excellent colour representation
Dis- more expensive to make then TN
Advantages and disadvantages to vertical alignment
Ad- good in between to TN & IPS
Good colour representation
Dis- slower response time than TN

No backlight as the organic compound provides light
