What are the main properties of a DHCP scope?
IP address range, subnet mask, and lease durations.
What options can be set in a DHCP scope?
DNS server, default gateway, and VOIP servers.
What is a DHCP pool?
A group of IP addresses assigned to each subnet.
What is dynamic IP address assignment
The DHCP server assigns an IP from a large pool and reclaims it after the lease expires.
What is automatic IP assignment?
Similar to dynamic, but the same IP is often reassigned to the device.
What is address reservation?
A specific IP is reserved for a particular MAC address.
What is a DHCP lease?
A temporary IP address given to a device.
What happens during DHCP reallocation
The device reboots or moves to another subnet, releasing the IP.
What is the T1 timer in DHCP renewal?
It renews the IP at 50% of the lease time.
What is the T2 timer in DHCP renewal?
It rebinds the IP with any DHCP server if the original is down, at 87.5% of lease time.
What are the three phases of the DHCP lease process?
Normal Operation, Renewal Period, and Rebinding Period.
