Precipitous
Definition: Very Steep. Example: The wooded slope was precipitous and hard to climb
Acquiesced
Definition: Accepted, Agreed, Contented. Example: They never acquiesced in the judgment of the court, instead they bitterly opposed it.
Retorted
Definition: Reply in a sharp or witty way. Example: Felling insulted, he retorted angrily.
Condolences
Definition: Expressions of sympathy. Example: When he heard about the death of his enemy he sent his condolences out the window.
Marauders
Definition: People who roam around for loot or goods to steal Example: The man kept a lookout for the marauders.
Languor
Definition: Weakness, and Weariness. Example: After the hours of work he felt great languor.
Exasperation
Definition: Great annoyance Example: His exasperation of being captured was so big he cursed outloud.
Reconciliation
Definition: friendly end to a quarrel Example: The fight could end in two ways, reconciliation or death.
Pious
Definition: Showing a great devotion to religion Example: Although not religious, His words were pious.
Succor
Definition; Help given to someone in distress Example: Unable to free themselves, they waited for the rescuers to succor.
Interloper
Definition: a person who becomes involved in a place or situation where they are not wanted or are considered
not to belong. “Japanese consumers have in the past been unreceptive to foreign interlopers in the cell phone market”
Pinioned
Definition: pinned, as if chained or tied up. Example “Joan of Arc was pinioned to a stake and burned as a heretic.”
