Landforms Of Sea Erosion Flashcards
Sea arch
Is a passage that runs completely through a headline . It happens when both sides of the rock start to erode and form a tunnel and they soon connect
Transport by the sea: longshore drift
Moves materials along the beach. Occurs when waves approach the beach at an angle the swash bring materials onto the beach and the backwash brings them back down to the sea
Sea caves
Is a tunnel or passage way through the base of a cliff. The waves erode a weak point in the rock and soon forms a long tunnel in the rock
Sea stack and sea stump
A sea stack is a large pillar beside a cliff. It was once the edge of a cliff until the waves started to erode it away. Over time it is completely separated from the cliff and now a sea stack. A sea stump is the same as a sea stack except the top of the rock is eroded away so it is a small stump.
