Describe the Preparation stage.
The coach is concerned with the process of developing a skill using their prerequisite knowledge about the particular skill. A coach can use checklists outlining the elements of the skill which are identified prior to analysis.
Describe the Observation stage.
The coach gathers information about the performance. The athlete is observed and compared to a checklist. The coach is concerned with finding the best angle to observe in real-time or via video recording.
Describe the evaluation stage.
Coach uses the information gathered in the observation stage to identify strengths and weaknesses of the athlete. Coach identifies methods that can be used to improve performance. Coach lists weaknesses in order of priority of correction.
Describe the Intervention stage.
The coach provides feedback and corrections to the athlete on what they can improve. Coach uses drills to practice specific aspects of the skill they need to improve.
Describe the Re-evaluation stage.
The coach observes the athlete and implements changes made in similar content to the initial observation. Coach reassess to see if a difference is achieved.
