Define joint
Where two or more bones meet
Define ligament
Provide the connection between two bones, helping hold the body together
What is a ball and socket joint
Allow the greatest range of movement and can move in all direction
What is a hinge joint
It has two ends that are shaped to move against each other
This hint works like a door hinge
What is a pivot joint
They only allow rotation
One end of the bone is a peg shape that into the other end of the bone
What is a tendon
The provide a connection between muscles and bones and allow muscles to exert force on body parts
What is cartilage
It surrounds the end of bone to prevent them from grinding against each other
Can also act as a shock absorber
What is synovial fluid
It acts as a lubricant and reduces friction otherwise we wouldn’t have joints
