How can interval training be used to improve speed?

A

Work at a harder intensity for a shorter time
Intensity should be close to maximum
Increase the number of rest/ recovery periods

Explain what hollow sprints are.

A

Where more than one sprint is done,with a jog or walk in between. The jog or walk is the hollow period.

What are Acceleration sprints

A

You keep increasing the pace over a short distance. Start standing still, easy jogging, and slowly get faster till you are at full speed.
Rest in between each sprint by jogging or walking
