A

Can cause ventricular irritability, deactivated by alkaline solutions, used with caution if MI is suspected.

Bradycardia refractory to atropine and other therapies (last resort), severe status asthmaticus, and poisoning from beta-blockers

A

Should not be used to increase blood pressure in cardiogenic shock

Adult Dosage

A

Adult: 1 mg should be placed in to 500 mL of D5W then slowly infused at 2 – 10 mcg/min and titrated until the desired rate is obtained or until PVCs occur

A

Increases myocardial oxygen demand and can induce V- fib and V-tach. May exacerbate tachydysrhythmias due to digitalis toxicity or hypokalemia.
