Mechanism of Action
Agonist actions at the body’s opioid receptor. Increases tone and decreases smooth muscle of the GI tract.

Indications
Severe pain, adjunct to RSI, and maintenance of analgesia

Contraindications
Myasthenia gravis, children under two years of age.

Bradycardia, seizures, and diaphoresis

May interact with alcohol or CNS depressants

25 – 100 mcg IV, IN, IM, IO
