A eid that commemorates the time they believe Ali was to be the leader after Muhammad. Shi’a muslims observe a fast on this day and read poetry in the mosque
What is ashura and what happens on this day?
A day that comemmorates the anniversary of the death of Imam Hussain. Mourners wear black and the mosque is usually draped in black.
