IRO 002/010 RC Data Specs Flashcards
Monitoring & Analysis, RC Data Specification & Collection
IRO 010
What are examples of data needed by RC for real time monitoring?
- Actual system load
- Generator output
- Frequency
- Powerflow in MW and MVAR
IRO 010
What are examples of data needed by RC for real time assessment?
- Real time data such as MW
- MVAR flow evaluated under given conditions such as loss of generation, transmission, or load
IRO 010
What are examples of data needed by RC for operational planning analysis?
- Load forecasts
- Expected generation output levels
- Known system constraints (facility outages or limitations)
IRO 010
What entities may receive a data specification from the RC and what must they do?
- RC, BA, GO, GOP, LSE, TO, T owner, DP.
- Must satisfy the data obligation using a mutually agreeable format and security protocol, and process for resolving data conflicts
IRO 010
What might be included in a data specification from the RC?
- List of required data and info needed
- Timeframe and periodicity for providing it
- Provisions for notification of current and special protection system status / degredation
- deadline for providing it
IRO 002
What type of data might be collected by RC?
Generation status changes over 50 MW
Transmission status changes (Over 100kV)
Daily/Hourly/Weekly forecasted system loads.
IRO 002
What are the requirements for RC monitoring capabilities?
Detailed real-time monitoring capability in RC area
Sufficient monitoring capability in surrounding RC area.
IRO-002
What types of information require special emphasis and must be provided over a redundant infrastructure?
Alarm management and awareness systems
Automated data transfers, and synchronized information systems
IRO-002
How often must the redundant data exchange functionality be tested?
Every 90 days.
(If test is unsuccessful, RC must take action within 2 hours to restore).
The redundant requirement applies only to data exchange needed for real time monitoring and assessment (not operational planning), specified in R2.
IRO-002 R4
System operators will have authority to approve planned outages of what?
Its telecommunication, monitoring, and analysis capabilities.
