FF emergency definition:
PDA?!
When LFB personnel or personnel working under our control are unaccounted for and/or in need of rescue.
FFE message must be sent.
6 Pumps - 2 x FRUs - FIU - CU - LAS - PLO - FSO - SAI - 3 x SMs - GM and DAC
This PDA is in addition to the machines already in attendance
Following a FF emergency the IC should:
Consider either an emergency or tactical evacuation.
People at greatest risk come out first!
Safe exit routes please
Emergency evacuation;
Who can implement it (normally..)
The immediate and controlled withdrawal of all personnel from the scene of ops to a place of safety
IC, Ops commander, Sector commander or safety officer.
Although any FF personnel can - IC informed asap
Emergency evacuation methods;
Upon hearing the evac signal all personnel will…;
Acme thunderer whistle
Telemetry ECB - Evacuate all
Radio
Repeat signal - Withdraw to a place of safety, assemble at booking in point (ICP/CU)
Tactical withdrawal;
The same people can order it as the emergency one..

At a roll call (following an evac) all appliance commanders will..;
Get their NRB
Take a roll call - report the outcome to IC
Return the NRB
Outcome of the roll call reported to control
If you’re attending a 4pf and send FF emergency, amongst other appliances you will get 6 additional pumps, is this then a 10pf?
No the FF emergency pda is in addition to the attendance you already have. It shouldn’t be included on any messages.
What would the DAC’s role be when attending the FF emergency?
Depending on then size of the incident, either take over and become IC or if a DAC or AC is already in charge take responsibility for the FFE S and R operations.
