Interventions Flashcards
Risk-focused programes
Intervention programmes that attempt to reduce risk exposure
Asset-focused programme
Programmes that attempt to directly provide higher quality and or more quantity of assets in children’s lives
Process-oriented programme
Programmes that attempt to improve the most important adaptational systems for children such as key relationships, intellectual functioning and self-regulation systems
Moderator (interactive) models
Models based on interactive relationships between protective/vulnerability factors and risk factors.
Main effect model
models of resilience in which single factors are identified as determining whether a given child exposed to a risk
Mediator effects models
Models that explore the role of intervening or intermediate variables on the effects of risks. Can’t show resilience, but can show the pathways through which risk factors are related to outcomes.
