IQ below 80. Can’t see anything from the outside. Difficulty in school/society. Flanker task: Attend to central arrow. Incongruent stimuli is hard for MBID
Face recognition
Encoding switch hypothesis: Young children focus on features to remember faces, above 10 start to focus on lay out; configural processing.
Short term memory
Capacity to reproduce recent info. Forward digit span. Due to development AND different coding (eg categorical)
Working memory
Remember and process information. Backward digit span. DLPFC increase. ADHD have reduced working memory. Predictive of self-control and studying
Long term memory
Storing and retrieving information.
Correlation of IQ s core and age
Correlation between 11 and 17 are all above .7
Between 1, 3 and 6 it’s very unstable and correlation is low.
