What happens in an attempted hijack?
A
- FC ensure lockdown procedure in place
- FD door remains locked
- No one to enter FD until aircraft is on the ground
- Report emergency to ATC (airport traffic control), say appropriate code (do covertly in a sentence)
- If aircraft has datalink - emergency report: PAN, if armed intervention is required, emergency: MAYDAY
- If bomb suspected, follow non normal checklist: BOMB ON BOARD and activate SAAP
- Communicate with CC
- Land asap in nearest airport

A
- Weapon description
- Explosive device description
- Physical description of hijacker
- Seat number
- Joining port
- Name

What to do in the attempt of a hijack on the ground (FD)?
A
- Maintain contact with ATC/authorities
- Give details of hijacker
- Disable aircraft so it cannot be started or moved (ie. pull circuit breakers)
- Consider evacuating FD via non-normal means (ie. escape hatch or windows)

What to press on interphone to alert FC of a hijacker?
A
- Direct FC call
- DO not use alert call as an alarm at all stations is not desired

What to do if rescue forces come onboard during a ground hijacking?
A
Lie on floor and don’t move

What to be aware of post hijacking incident?
A
- Law enforcement will treat CC and FC with suspicion until resolved
- Do not discuss incident with press (advise family and friends you cannot discuss it either)

- Don’t touch it
- Tell CSM and give description

- Open any sealed containers
- Disconnect any wires or electrical connections
