Inerview_Questions Flashcards
Strength / Weakness
*Strength
One of my strengths is adaptability.
*Weakness
I tend to take on too much instead of delegating the work. I would rather do it all myself. But i have been working on trusting and delegating more
Challenging situation and how you handled it
*Had to install a new Codec unit, which I had never done before. It involved connecting these pins. I had a deadline. I had to use google
Working under pressure
Some people had access to their SIPR and some didn’t. I decided to restart the base Taclane and that resolved the issue.
Teamwork & Collaboration
A unit took over the permissions of our network. There were some bumps in the road, but we managed to come together and it ended up being a smooth transition.
When I made a mistake
One of my first jobs in networking……I was working on a clients issue, I was in the data closet and I bumped the fiber which was a trunk port and the whole floor lost connectivity.
Tell me about yourself
- Im a Network Administrator with 5 years of experience.
*My last role was a contractor at Quantico
*I did configurations and upgrades on 9300 switches
Why this company
What interests me most about this opportunity is how well the job description aligns with my experience. But I also appreciate the reputation of this company.
802.1x port security
authentication protocols
port security - uses mac addresses
802.1x uses the device to verify authentication
ISE
access control
ISE uses 802.1x, Radius and Tacacs
Upgrading IOS
make sure there is enough space in flash
copy the file to usb then copy that to flash
Router / Switch
*Router
layer 3 device
uses ip addresses
connects devices to different networks
*Switch
layer 2 device
uses mac addresses
connects devices within the same network
Trunk Vs Access (VLAN’s)
Trunk port - carries traffic to different vlans
Access port - carries traffic to a single vlan
VLAN
security and segmentation
Default route
instead of maintaining many routes you can use a single route. Usually pointing to a router (default gateway)
TCP vs UDP
TCP- connection oriented
http, ssh, telnet
UDP- connectionless
DNS, DHCP
Default Gateway
an ip address that is used to carry traffic to outside the local network
DHCP
domain host configuration protocol
automatically assigns ip addresses to devices
DNS
domain name service
changes domain names into ip addresses
Strength / Weakness
*Strength
im very adaptable when it comes to a new job and new people.
*Weakness
I tend to take on too much instead of delegating the work. I can get into the mindset of I know if I do it, it will be done right
