Individualistic Theories - Learning Theories Evaluation Flashcards
1
Q
Skinner
- Strengths
A
- Skinners studies of learning trough varius animal species show that they do actually learn through experience and so it is logical for humans to behave in a similar way
- C.R Jefferys application to crime
2
Q
Skinner
- Weaknesses
A
- based on animal studies so cannot be completely adequate model of human learning
- ignores mental proceses such as cognition, thinking and attitudes which is important in determining behaviour
3
Q
SLT
- Strengths
A
- takes into account that humans are fundamentally are social beings who learn from experience of others which Skinners ignores
- observing aggressive behavior being rewarded had casual links to imitating behavior
- experiment is reliable as its repeated with same results
4
Q
SLT
- Weaknesses
A
- lab setting - artificial and findings may not be valued for real life
- children have not played with bobo doll prior so may assume that’s how its meant to be
- not all behavior can be easily imitated as they can lack skills for more complex things
