Huskey System_General (pt 1) Flashcards
What is this?
What does it do?
- Foam System Supply Valve
2. Opens automatically when the foam system is turned on to allow tank 1 foam concentrate to be drawn into the foam pump
What is this?
What does it do?
- Check valve
- The Foam Check Valve located in the foam supply line prevents water from flowing backwards through the foam system and contaminating the foam supply
What is the size of the Huskey 12 pick up tube compared to the Huskey 3?
- Huskey 3: .75”
2. Huskey 12: 1”
What is this?
What does it do?
The foam drain allows for concentrate to be drained off from the foam manifold and to give foam a place to go when the system is primed.
Just read don’t study: Class A Shut Down Procedure
- Turn the system off on the control head.
- Continue flowing a discharge until it is mostly free of bubbles.
- No additional flush is needed. Foam pump is designed to be flooded with foam.
This is according to the official Gilbert Video: what drain do I open before I open the auxiliary inlet for drafting?
What do I need to do to flush the pump?
- The Foam intake drain.
- Have a discharge open (hose line used, manifold, and pump drain) and hold the enter button for as long as I want to flush (A sign that an adequate flush has been performed is when the white-soapy water from the handline becomes clear with no slippery feel)
Before turning on the foam pump to flow foam, what must be done?
- Make sure the recirculate valve is open (as well as put the truck in pump)
