* E2511 Pressures (pt 2) Flashcards
100’ Blitz fire with fog nozzle psi?
135 for 100’ section (add 25psi for each 100’ section)
Psi settings for smooth bore blitz?
For 100’ section
55psi — 1’ (+5psi/ 100’)
60psi — 1 1/4’ (+10psi/ 100’)
80psi — 1 1/2 (+20psi/ 100’)
What is a pressure and GPM range for 2 1/2” 200’ w/ 100’ 1 3/4 smooth tip?
How about 200’ 1 3/4?
Off cross lay
100psi for 100’ // 125psi for 200’ (plus 5psi per floor)
80psi = 165gpm // 90psi = 185gpm
105psi // 120psi
Psi settings for smooth bore ground monitor?
101-105psi (+3psi / 100’)
[the friction loss is 1-5psi depending on size tip]
If I am a supply pumper, what should I pump the attack pumper?
- Offensive: 120
- Defensive: 180
- However, consider the number of lines being pumped and the GPM for both offensive and defensive
- Remember: intake pressures cannot be greater than 150 at the keystone unless pressure gauge increased
5 too high a pressure will not allow pressure givernor to operate*
100’ Ground monitor with fog PSI?
130 for 100’ section (add 8psi for each 100’ section)
1 3/4 200’ 15/16”: Pressure and GPM for two settings
185gpm = 105psi
165gpm = 90psi
What is the GPM, NP, and pressures for a piercing nozzle
- 95gpm
- 100NP
- 100-110psi + 10psi/ extra 100’
What tips do the 2 1/2 preconnect and highrise pack have? What are their friction loss?
- High rise: 1 1/8 tip
- Preconnect: 1 3/16 tip.
- Both have FL of 10psi/ 100’ (remember the high rise has 5psi/50’ bundle)
PSI for the Deck Gun with Smooth bore tips
100psi for all tips
(remember the appliance loss is 20psi for any flow greater than >350gpm)
Why should we not pump another engine at high pressures?
It will not allow the pressure governor to work properly (nor go into passive regen)
What is the friction loss psi for 100’ section of 2 1/2 when flowing 185
5psi
