Huskey 12: Flushing after drafting Class B Foam
A
- Continue flowing though all foam discharges that were used.
- Open the foam pump and manifold drains
- Disconnect the pick-up hose [reinstall cap. Rinse pick-up hose with clean water when possible.]
- page over and push down arrows to get to flush; press enter and toggle up to turn on manual flush
- close manifold drain when done
[will count down flush time; need to now prime the system]

- Select foam source
- Open foam pump discharge drain
- Press foam prime button and release when foam is coming out the discharge drain
- Close foam pump discharge drain

A
- Open the manifold drain
- Press foam prime button and release when foam is coming out the manifold drain
- If not going to be immediately used to fight fire, allow water to continue to flow out of the manifold drain until clear of foam
- Close the manifold drain

When do foam pumps need to be flushed with a clean water in the pickup tube?
A
- The only pump that needs the auxiliary pick up tube to be flushed with clean water is the Huskey 3, because there is no flush setting
- Do this after drafting Class B or F500 (or a different brand of Class A than what we typically carry)

The following are the correct steps for setting up to draft class B foam from an external source (this is from engineer’s academy test)?
A
- Place truck in pump
- gather foam concentrate
Open foam intake drain - Attach foam pickup tube and place in foam bucket
- Select Draft class B as source
- Flow at least 20 gpm through water/foam discharge
