- what workers will be needed and the skills they will need
- the cost of employment

an exercise used to identify gaps within employees in the business

what is workforce planning?
A
-predicting the future demand for staff and to match it with the supply
- it ensures there is the right number of staff, with the correct skills, at the right time.
- it can also be used to reduce number of workers. e.g.) by redundancy

what are the advantages of having a workplan?
A
- control staffing costs
- avoid staff shortages as it will be planned for
- ensure enough products are created to meet demand by hiring correct staff
- help produce quality products due to skilled staff

what are the disadvantages of having a workplan?
A
- employment can be carried out ineffectively by someone inexperienced or not completed in time
-may not be able to be changed, poor when external changes occur
-may not be detailed enough
