Management by Objectives.
How MBO works?
- All employees are given objectives on which performance is based.
- These objectives are aligned with the Company’s goals and directions.
- Related to the key areas of the job description.
- Connected to the individual’s development plan.
What is the MBO’s goal?
MBO goal is to ensure that corporate goals are understood and cascaded across all levels of the organization in a coordinated manner
Cons and pros for MBO?
- *Pros:** Specific for current task, measurable, attainable, realistic, time bounded. (SMART)
- *Cons**: Change over a year, change of location, change of manager at middle of the year.

What is a matrix organization and how does it work in SLB?
Matrix organization is idea that people or departments at the same levels are working together, it is not the classic vertical structure. Line management normally reports to two different bosses. Two different reports, direct and functional managers.
