HIV Presentation
A
- Illness resembles glandular fever (fevers, sweats, malaise, lethargy, anorexia, nausea, myalgia…)
- Most specific is maculopapular rash affecting upper part of body and mucosal ulcers in mouth and genital areas
- Can get GI features
- Starts 2-6 weeks after exposure and resolved in a week or two
- Commensural infections as CD4 counts drop

A
- Infectious mononucleosis caused by EBV
- Toxoplasmosis
- Rubella

HIV Ix (FBC result?)
A
- Thrombocytopenia, mild anaemia, atypical lymphocytes
- HIV antibody and p24 antigen tests

HIV Management
A
- ART immediately after diagnosis
- INSTI based
