Fibrocystic Change

A
  • Most common benign breast disorder
  • Presents with pain and nodularity
  • Symptoms greatest one week before menstruation decrease when it starts
  • Manage with analgesia and a well fitting bra
  • Does not increase risk of cancer

  • Refer
  • Complex and multiple are associated with increased risk of CA

Breast Cancer Pathway Referral Criteria

A
  • Aged ≥30 with unexplained breast lump (with or without pain)
  • Non-urgent referral if under 30
  • Aged ≥50 with unilateral discharge, retraction, other changes of concern
