Strong and muscular, hocks well let down, turned neither in nor out, with long second thighs and moderately bent stifles.
Basenji
Muscular thighs. Stifles well bent. Hocks firm, well let down and parallel to each other.
Beagle
Thighs and second thighs very muscular. Hocks well let down, bent and squarely set.
Bloodhound
General appearance: Strong, viewed from behind straight and parallel, moderate angulations. The bone is of moderate strength. The thigh is slightly longer than the lower thigh.
Thigh: Of medium length, rather broad with well developed muscles.
Stifle (Knee): Pointed forward, moderate angulation.
Lower thigh: Muscular.
Hock joint: Set moderately low, moderate angulation.
Metatarsus (Rear pastern): Rather short, strong and vertical.
Finnish Spitz
Powerful and muscular. Moderate turn of stifle. Hocks well let down. Well boned down to feet.
Foxhound
Powerful, with muscular first and second thighs. Stifles well angled. Hocks well let down and viewed from behind, stand square. Well boned down to feet.
Harrier
Legs firm, strong and powerful; little but definite bend at stifle and hock; straight when viewed from behind.
Norwegian Elkhound
Very strong; well muscled when viewed from any angle, standing neither too wide nor too narrow behind. Hind angulation moderate; hocks well let down, turning neither in nor out. Thighs and second thighs heavily muscled. In natural stance, hindlegs from hock to ground perpendicular.
