Small, pointed, erect and slightly hooded, of fine texture, set well forward on top of head, tip of ear nearer centre of skull than outside base.
Basenji
Long, with rounded tip, reaching nearly to end of nose when drawn out. Set on low, fine in texture and hanging gracefully close to cheeks.
Beagle
Thin and soft to the touch, long, set on low and falling in graceful folds, lower parts curling inwards and backwards.
Bloodhound
Set rather high, always erect. Rather small sized, pointed, very mobile and covered with fine hair.
Finnish Spitz
Leathers pendant, carried close to head, high set.
Foxhound
Leathers pendent, with the leading edge lying close to the cheeks. Set on just above the level of the eye. The ears may be raised when alert.
Harrier
Set high, small, firm and erect, pointed and very mobile; slightly taller than width at base; when alert, outer edge should be vertical.
Norwegian Elkhound
Unique feature of the breed. Long, pendulous, set on level with corner or eye; easily reaching nose when pulled forward, with characteristic fold. Leading edge folding or rolling inwards giving curious draped appearance - an essential point not to be lost. Well covered and fringed with hair.
