Short, sleek and close, very fine. Skin very pliant.
Basenji
Short, dense and weatherproof.
Beagle
Smooth, short and weatherproof.
Bloodhound
Skin: Tight overall without wrinkles.
Hair: Moderately long on the body, stand-off coat, semi or fully, stiffer stand-off on the neck, shoulders and back. On the head and the legs, except the back of the hindquarters, coat is short and close-lying. The stiff hair on the shoulders, especially in males is noticeably longer and coarser. On the trousers and on the tail the hair is long and dense. The undercoat is short, soft, dense and light in colour.
Finnish Spitz
Short and dense. Weatherproof.
Foxhound
Short, dense, hard and glossy. Weatherproof.
Harrier
Close, abundant, weather resistant; soft, dense, woolly undercoat and coarse, straight outer coat; short and smooth on head and front of legs, slightly longer on back of front legs, longest on neck, back of thighs and tail; not trimmed.
Norwegian Elkhound
Long 4-8 cm, (1.5-3 ins), dense rough, harsh and waterproof but not wiry of broken appearance. Softer hair on head and lower legs natural. Undercoat evident and there may be a slight oily texture in top and undercoat. Not trimmed for exhibition. Presentation should be natural.
