Barkless but not mute, its own special noise of mixture of a chortle and a yodel. Remarkable for its cleanliness in every way.
Basenji
A merry hound whose essential function is to hunt, primarily hare, by following a scent. Bold, with great activity, stamina and determination. Alert, intelligent and of even temperament.
Beagle
Possesses in a most marked degree every point and characteristic of those dogs which hunt together by scent (Sagaces). Very powerful, standing over more ground than is usual with hounds of other breeds. Skin relatively loose.
Bloodhound
A hunting dog mainly for forest game birds, also predatory small game, waterfowl and elk. Eager hunter; rather independent, yet works co-operatively to game, marking game by barking.
Finnish Spitz
Stamina and endurance, natural ability to hunt.
Foxhound
A natural ability to hunt. Normally hunted on horse, but slower in pace than the xxx enabling him to be followed on foot.
Harrier
A hardy hunting Spitz with a bold energetic disposition.
Norwegian Elkhound
Big, strong hound primarily built for long day’s work in water but able to gallop on land.
