Explain how you ensure your personal safety on site?

Answer 1

• Ensure I make my line manager aware of my location and date and time of visit
• Contact the site manager in advance to establish the current condition of the site
• Establish what the necessary PPE is and whether it will be provided
• Take mobile phone with me and ensure it is fully charged

Explain how you ensure the security of your personal possessions on site?

• Only take equipment or possessions that are essential
• If possible, leave any equipment that is not being used in a locked room or locker

Tell me about how you ensure good health & safety practices whilst on site.

Answer 3

• Always wear the PPE required at all times when on site
• Only enter locations that are open or meant to be visited i.e not ignoring signage or fencing
• Follow the instructions of the site manager if being escorted
• Adhere to RICS Surveying Safely Guidance

Canterbury (active construction site)
- Full PPE provided by the site manager
- Ensured all equipment fit appropriately
- Listened to the H&S briefing before the site inspection
- Did not remove any pieces of PPE
- Followed the instructions of the site manager

• Reviewed the risk assessment that had been undertaken 3 months prior
• Reviewed the health and safety management plan
• Contacted the site manager in advance to ensure there were no specific hazards that I should be particularly conscious of that weren’t included in the risk assessment
