Organisations
Een organisatie is een sociaal arrangement voor het bereiken van prestaties bij het nastreven van collectieve doelen
Why differs an organisation from a group?
- Does not arise spontaneously
- People are hired for their skills, not for social reasons
- Forced to perform certain tasks
- Forced to work
Self categorisation
The tendency to classify individuals and their distinguishing characteristics by placing them in social groups
Social identification
People are seen as members of different or overlapping groups. They can choose whether to emphasize that they are part of a particular group
Positive social identity
People try to participate in groups or organisations with a high social status
Social comparison between groups
The value of the characteristics behaviours, achievements or results of a specific group established by comparing it with those of other groups
