Squirrelfish
A
Have a pronounced rear dorsal fin that sticks up like a squirrel’s tail, thus the name. You see them under ledges and in crevices during the day.
Common types: Longspine, Reef, Giant, Blackbar and Soldierfish

Bigeyes
A
Differ from squirrelfish in that they have bigger eyes, a continuous dorsal fin & appear less scaly.
Common types: Glasseye, Bigeye and Goggleye.

Cardinalfish
A
Are small and reddish, with short snouts and two separate dorsal fins.
Common types: Barred, Flamefish and Fiveline cardinalfish.
