Butterflyfish

A

Usually round, small and have concave foreheads. They often have long snouts for feeding from crevices.
Common types:
Banded, Foureye, Spotfin, Racoon, and Lemon butterfly fish.

Angelfish

A

Tend to be darker in color, have long dorsal fins and rounded foreheads.
They’re one of the few fish that eat sponges.
Common types:
Queen, Blue, French, Gray, Rock Beauty, Flame, Emperor, and Royal

Surgeonfish (also called tangs)

A

Usually have solid color and you can identify them by the spines sticking out from each side of their tail base. They eat algae.
Common types:
Blue tang, Ocean surgeonfish, Doctorfish, Achilles tang, Convict tang and Longnose unicornfish.
