Parrotfish
A
Get their names from their beak-like teethplates & rainbow colors, much like parrots. They swim using their pectoral fins, & you see them scraping algae off hard surfaces.
Common types: Rainbow, Blue, Queen, Stoplight, Redband, Longnose & Bicolor parrotfish.

Wrasse
A
Generally smaller than parrotfish, & more elongated. You see them foraging through sand & the reef for small invertebrates. Wrasse change color & pattern as they go from juvenile to adult. Some, such as hogfish & razorfish, depart from “typical” wrasse shape.
Common types: Creole, Yellowhead, Bluehead, Clown, Rainbow, Senorita, Bird and Cleaner wrasse.
