Secondary - at pituitary
- adenoma especially hyperprolactinaemia which suppresses them - hypopiuitarism
- Hypothalamic tumours
- Kallmann’s syndrome
- Haemochromatosis

It is a rare cause of male impotence and infertility
Loss of drive and libido
Reduced beard growth
Erectile failure
Anorgasmia
A reduced volume of ejaculate
Reduced testicular volumes

Dx on measuring Testosterone, LH, FSH and prolactin

Tx for hypogonadism

Answer 5

Treat underlying cause eg hyper prolactin = dopamine agonist eg bromocriptine.
Testosterone replacement therapy either orally or monthly injection or 6 m S/C implant or patch, or depot.

Cx of not treating osteoporosis, lethargy and weakness.
