Goat meat breed:

Boer goat

- Also known as Brush goats
- most are horned, horned bucks are mostly used, polled goats are not used because of hermaphrodism
- flighty disposition if raised extensively - can make them hard to handle
Spanish Goat
Goat meat breed:
- Wooden leg goat
- when frightened or excited the “locked up”’ or faint for a few seconds
- heavy rumped deep chested animals
- most are black and white but multi colors are uncommon
- Seasonal breeders, easy kidders, and have good milk production: 2 kiddings a year.
Myotonic Goat
Goat meat breed:
- has two types of breed
1. coarse haired type: cream, tan, or light and is polled
2. Fine hair: black or brown, and have white belt, and usually horned.
