- Minimal shelter is required to house them due to insulative properties

- Fleece contains: fiber, cashmere, and guard hair

- Average goat in the US: Shears approx. 5.3 pounds of mohair per shearing
- both sexes are horned, bucks have pronounced spiral horns, and female is comparatively short and much smaller
- they are small animal compared to sheep
- Form is similar to a sheep but mutton are less developed
- ears are dropping and heavy
