Cardiovascular and Lymphatic system Flashcards
Largest vein in cardiovascular
Superior and Inferior Vena cava
Largest artery in cardiovascular
Aorta
all four valves in order of cardiovascular
Tricuspid valve
Pulmonary valve
Mitral valve
Aortic valve
Function of cardiovascular
deliver oxygen, nutrients, and immune factors
How do blood travels from aorta to vena cava veins?
Aorta is connected to subsequently smaller and smaller arteries called capillaries, then connected by interstitial space of tissues and organs, from venules that makes the vein larger and larger back to vena cava veins.
How avian cardiovascular differs from mammals?
Avian heart pumps more blood per unit with lower rate of beats.
An open system that flows in one direction only that is connected to the veins of bottom heart.
Lymphatic system
A bean shaped organ situated all through out the body.
Lymph node
Two types of lymphoid tissues of mammals
Primary: Bone marrow and thymus, contains HSC that can mature into different types of blood cells.
Secondary: spleen and lymph nodes;; filters blood and captures antigen and pathogen that pass into lymph.
Types of specialized cell found inside the lymph node.
T and B lymphoid cells
Primary and secondary lymphoid of avian
Primary: Thymus, bursa, bone marrow
Secondary: spleen, germinal centers, and diffuse lymphoid
