What are the two types of goal
Performance goals and Outcome goals
What is a performance goal
Personal goal that an individual wants to achieve. Performers compare themselves against what they have already done or suggest what they are going to do.
What is an Outcome goal
Goal that is focused on the end result
Why are goals impportant
When appropriate goals are set performers have something to focus on and work towards and are likely to be more motivated to succeed.
What does SMART stand for
Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time Sensitive/Bound
What does Specific mean in SMART
Clearly explain what you want to achieve and ensure your target is specific and relevant
What does Measurable mean in SMART
Track your progress so you can see improvement
What does Achievable mean in SMART
Have the ability to reach the target. Don’t set attainable goals
What does Realistic mean in SMART
Realistic for your personality and lifestyle.
What does Time bound/sensitive mean in SMART
Time frame to complete to help keep you focus
