The Americans became angry about this and it was one of the reasons they joined the war against Germany.

Rationing of food and Germany had small coastline so the allied blockade of key ports caused huge food shortages.

Germany used Storm Troopers but they were not disciplined enough so got distracted easily allowing the Allies counter attack to be devastating.
What effect did the Americans have on the war?
The Americans brought in new supplies, like weapons, for the Allies.
What happened in the revolution in Germany in 1918?
The living conditions at this time were poor. The governments had been taken over by Socialists. There was mutiny in the navy and cities. The people of Germany were angry at the Kaiser for not being victorious.
Why had the Germans every reason to believe things were going well in Nov 1917?
The allies weren’t doing very well- they had lost over 300,000 soldiers.
