What are the 5 requirements that should be found on an arrest warrant?
A
- be directed to an appropriate officer
- name of the accused, or a description that he can be identified by
- description of the offense charged
- command that the accused be arrested and brought before a court
- be signed by the issuing judicial officer

What should be done if the officer knows they have the right person but there’s a minor mistake found on the warrant?
A
The warrant should be served, and the mistake can be later corrected by a magistrate or judge on the court date

When a warrant is served, it’s entered into records. Each entry should will include what?
A
- the warrant control number and court docket number
- date and time received
- type of legal process (civil or criminal)
- nature of the document (warrant, capias, summons)
- source of document (magistrate warrant, court Capias)
- name of the complainant/petitioner or defendant/respondent
- current location of the warrant and when appropriate:
- officer assigned for service of document
- date of assignment
- court date it know
- date service is due
- date of service
