Fuel Flashcards
Fuel tank capacity
1- 6,550 kg
2- 6,550 kg
Total - 13,100 kg
Where is the fueling/refueling panel located?
Under the right wing
What is the function of the Collector Tank?
Holds the fuel pumps, and is normally maintained at a higher level than the main portion of the tank, so as to ensure a continuous supply of fuel to the engines.
What is the function of the surge tank?
The surge tank is used for venting the tank to the atmosphere as well as providing a space for fuel containment during overfill or sloshing conditions.
How are the engines and APU fueled during operation?
Fuel is provided by one ejector pump in each tank and alternately provided by one AC powered pump in each tank.
Function of the ejector pumps
The ejector pimps supply fuel pressure when the engines are running. Operate through a venturi effect
Backup fuel pumps
There is one AC pump in each tank, and a DC pump in the right wing tank. They provide backup source of fuel pressure and are used for engine and APU start
How many pumps does each wing contain?
Each wing contains 1 primary Ejector pump, 1 AC boost pump, and 3 scavenger ejector pumps. The right wing also contains 1 DC pump
When does the Fuel imbalance message appear?
360 kg of fuel inbalance
What powers AC PUMP 1 and AC PUMP 2?
Pump 1 - AC BUS 1
Pump 2 - AC ESS BUS
What powers the ring wing DC Pump?
DC ESS BUS 2 and can operate from battery power.
CAn you land with x feed on?
No! Must be turned off for takeoff and landing
When does the FUEL IMBALANCE change to XFEED OPEN message?
When the imbalance reaches 45kg
How many fuel low level sensors are there?
1 in each collector tank
When does the fuel low level message appear?
When wing capacity reaches 400 Kg
