Auto Flight Flashcards
Yaw Damper Function
Provides commands to the rudder control surfaces to counteract the normal Dutch roll tendency of a swept wing aircraft. Moves the rudder independently of the autopilot and flight director system.
Max pitch up and down commanded by autopilot
+ - 20 degrees
Components of the Thrust Management System
-Auto Throttle System
- Thrust Rating Selection
-Electronic Thrust Trim System
Takeoff Thrust Hold Control Mode (HOLD)
De-energizes AUTOTHROTTLE to prevent undesired thrust lever movements during takeoff. Activated above 60 KTS and no throttle movements are commanded up to 400 ft AGL
When does the auto throttle engage the RETARD MODE?
At or below 30 ft
In a normal takeoff, when will the autopilot automatically change vertical mode?
The aircraft will switch from take-off to climb at 3000 ft AGL.
When can you activate AP?
During takeoff, on acceleration altitude.
During GO AROUND at 400 ft
FPA RAnge
+- 9.9 degrees
Engine Failure speed target
Below V2- guides V2
Between V2 and V2 + 10 knots, guidance stays at present speed
Engine Failure above V2 + 10, guidance goes to V2 + 10
TO Mode limits
Pitch min 8 degrees, max 18 degrees.
Max speed target Vfe-5kt, min Vshaker+10 knot for AEO
Vertical Speed Range
+6000 ft
- 8000 ft
Operational limit for FLCH
FAF due to speed on elevator.
