Q

Northern Rhône Terroir
3 Facts

A
  • The Mistral Wind is a strong, cold, northwesterly wind that blows from
The massif central (southern France), through the valley and into the Gulf of
    Lion in the northern Mediterranean.
  • The wind is so powerful (up to 40mph) that Northern Rhône has it’s own teepee-like trellising system to keep vines from blowing over.
  • Thick skinned grapes do better here.
