Q

Location/Geography of Côte d’Ore

A
  • 60-miles long from Dijon (north) to Maranges (mah-rogn-gay)
  • SE facing limestone escarpment with best vineyards in the middle of the slope. The top is now pure limestone, thus producing linear, focused wines. The bottom of the hill is heavy, rich soils, producing wines that are fat, plump and dense (millenea of rain did this) Mid slope has best balance of focus and richness.
