Foundation Level 4 Flashcards
Contact Locating… why would I use it?
If a muscle still tests weak or spongy, despite a thorough balance, ask the CL to contact locate the different strengthening methods (NL, NV, MEIs, beg&end of Meridian) to see which one STRENGTHENS and needs more work
Bi-Lateral Piriformis may indicate a Jaw problem… Explain
The Jaw effects 50% of the brains motor cortex, and imbalances can give rise to a host of compensatory symptoms anywhere in the body from digestion to back ache.
Consider rubbing the jaw as part of a treatment session
3 types of Food
1) Biogenic - give us energy
2) Biostatic - Neutral
3) Biocidic - Deplete energy
Main 8 muscles to test for Food Sensitivities
1) Supraspinatus - Brain - Wheat slows down thinking and learning, caffeine sodas dulls the brain
2) PMC - Stomach - Blood diets, lack of HCL and Enzymes = hard to digest foods
3) PMS - Liver - Toxic environment, alcohol, meds, drugs, caffeine
4) Anterior Deltoid - Gall Bladder - FAts
5) Latissimus Dorsi - Spleen - Sugars and Carbohydrates, muscle is a useful indicator for foods then affect the IMMUNE system
6) Quadriceps - Sm Intestine - Digestion issues, Aloe Vera
7) Psoas - Kidney - food and drink that overload the bloodstream fizzy drinks, tea, coffee (decaf)
8) Fascia Lata - Lg Intestine - Constipation, lack of fibre. Wheat can cause constipation and IBS. psyllium hulls help
Bi-Lateral Weaknesses = Structural problems:
1) Bi lateral Piriformis - JAW
2) Bi Lateral Hamstrings - Sacrum
3) Bi Lateral Psoas - Neck
- Jaw problems - Affects 50% of brain motor cortex leading to compensatory symptoms indigestion to back ache
- Hamstrings - Sacral lesions can be at the root of everything
- Neck - Could be because bilateral Psoas especially if low back ache.
