Social context/ Themes of the video
BLM- represents the murders of many black men and women in America by police officers (‘STOP SHOOTING US’, little boy surrendering)
Antebellum era- economy in the south was booming based on the work of black slaves (featuring of Beyoncé and black women in clothes similar to what they would wear in that era)
Hurricane Katrina- the ill treatment of black lower class communities during that natural disaster and how they were forgotten about and left to die or live in extreme conditions
Aims of the video
bring light and representation to those forgotten about (hurricane Katrina, BLM)

Aims to allow education and an open discussion on the issues faced by black women
